Golden Rock Hotel
Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda is complete without visiting the wonderful Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda, with was built in the year 574 BC (more than 2500 year ago), and today also known as Golden Rock Pagoda.
Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda, located on top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo at 3615 feet (1102 meters) above sea level is recognized as one of the wonder of South East Asia by a recent publication sponsored by the Tourism Authorities of ASEAN countries. It can also be qualified as one of the wonders of the world by virtue of it unique position atop a gilded. Boulder which is delicately balanced rock table, the slope dropping perpendicularly into the valley below. The boulder and balancing rock barely touch each other. Legend has through centuries by virtue of the power of the Hair relic of Gautama Buddha enshrined in the pagoda.
Golden Rock Hotel is situated among the rocks and trees on Kyaiktiyo hill approximately one mile from the famous Kyaiktiyo Pagoda at the top of the hill.
The hotel is about 130 miles (210 km) from Yangon. (about 4 hours by car)
